Kiara's Baptism Day

Kiara was baptized and confirmed a member of the

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on

Saturday April 9, 2011. This was extra special for her because was on her eighth birthday,What a great way to celebrate her birthday. She looked so beautiful, and she was so ready to be baptized. She talked about it everyday for months. We talked about what an important decision that is was, and the responsibilities that come with being a member of the church.She is such an amazing young lady, with such a big spirit, I know she will do great things in her life.We had to laugh because we were hoping for a beautiful spring day, but instead we had a huge snow storm. It was still fun to see everything covered

in white as we left the church.

Kiara I hope you know how proud your Dad and I are of you.

You are a very special Daughter of our Heavenly Father, always remember to keep him close to you.

We had a fun bowling day with friends in January. The kids loved it, and Mom had fun to.

This year for Valentine's Day we decided to have a Mother Daughter Party. On our street each Mom only has one daughter, so we had a little party with all the little girls that play toghether and their Mom. It was so much fun, we also had a dinner with just the adults the night before at the Jones house. It was a ton of fun!!!

Tony and I went on a trip to Bear Lake for our 10 year Wedding Anniversary. He took me snow mobiling for the first time, we went to a cute little chocolate fair, had dinner at the Maddox, and a yummy Mexican Restaurant. We had a great time being together. I love Tony so much, it has been a great 10 years!

Aunt Cheddy, Uncle Alex, and McKenlee came home for Christmas. So we had to hit our favorite hill for some sledding. I think this may have been McKenlee's first time sledding, and she loved it! Kiara and Ace had a ton of fun too, Dylan was sick so he had to stay warm in the car. I hope my kids look back and remember that I really was at all these fun things, I am just always behind the camera.

Since I have been a Mom, their have been things that have come out of my mouth that I thought I would never have to say. Yesterday I had one of those experience's. I got a knock on my door from a neighbor telling me that Kiara was at the park with her tongue stuck to the flag pole. I then had my moment that I got to call Tony and tell him that our daughter had licked the flag pole and her tongue was stuck. Really? I can't believe that I had to say that! Before I freed Kiara from the pole, I had to take a picture, I know it sounds mean, but really I hope this is a once in a life time picture. What would we do without our sweet kids?

So crazy that summer is coming to an end. We figured we would spend the afternoon at Liberty Park while the weather is still nice.

We had such a great time at Liberty Park, the kids loved being there and playing the the water with their friends. What a great end of summer activity.

Kiara has always wanted to do a lemonade stand, and it is one of those things that I never seem to make time for during the summer, but lucky for Kiara she has a second Mom that is taking care of her. Her Best friend Hailey's Mom (Jen) set up this lemonade stand for them and they loved it!!! What sweet little kids we have!

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July Weekend. We started by taking the kids to Riverton Town Days to play there, then we went swimming at Grandma Shinsel's house. Then a few days later we had a BBQ at Grandma Penny's and Grandpa Tony's. They had the little pool out for the kids to play in and even Grandpa Tony got in on the action.

Londyn's Birthday is on July 6th so they had a Birthday Cake for her.

Kiara and Ace were both able to compete in the keyhole. Kiara is getting so confident on the horses, I can't believe how much she has improved over 1 year. This was Ace Bug's first time competing and it was so much fun to watch him. I can't wait to see how he improves next year.

Ace got really spoiled for his Birthday this year. He has been wanting a Bull Rider set for a couple of months now, and it was so fun to watch him open it. He loves watching this old Bull Fighting VHS we have and he knows all the names of the cowboys, so it is so fun to hear him in playing rodeo, and to hear him do his announcer voice. It is so fun to have him in our family. What an awesome little boy. Happy Birthday Ace Bug!

Just after Christmas Kiara decided that she wanted an American Girl doll for her birthday. She has been talking about American girls dolls, and making cut outs of American Girl doll, and making us all a little crazy. So I think we were all as excited as she was when she finally got her American Girl doll. It is very cute, but not as cute as my little Birthday Girl. We love Kiara so much and are so grateful to have her in our home. She is such a sweet girl and such a big helper. I don't know what I would do without her. Happy Birthday my big 7 year old!!!

Easter Day 2010

The Egg Hunt

Finding their baskets. This was the first year that the Easter Bunny hid them, I guess the kids are growing up.
After the Easter egg hunt was over, the kids had a ton of fun playing sword fight with their nerd ropes. It was so fun to watch them play together, Even Dylan was in on the action. I loved that we got to watch conference afterwards, It was the perfect Easter to be able to hear from our Prophet and apostles. After the Sunday morning session we went and visited Grandma Penny and Grandpa Tony. We had lunch with them and then come back home for the last session of conference.

After conference we went to Grandma Quannette's and Grandpa Troy's house for another Egg Hunt and dinner with the family.

Dylan loves getting his picture taken right now. Every time I get the camera out, he stands right in front of it and says "cheese". I love it!!!

Spring Break - Part 1 Making Cookies

I hate to admit this, but I am not much of a baker. My Mom was always baking when I was young and still she is always in the kitchen making something delicious, it is how she relaxes. I, on the other hand do not enjoy it like she does. I would rather be scrapbooking or something else, but my kids LOVE to bake. So on the first day of spring break we made some cookie bars. My kids loved it, they had so much fun. Kiara said, "that was really fun, we like never do that." I had to laugh a little, and I am going to try to involve my kids in the kitchen more often. No wonder they love to be with Grandma Quanette so much!

Dylan Finally Walks

Dylan is almost 15 months old, and has refused to walk up to now. Thursday night he decided that he was going to be brave and took a few steps. By Sunday night he was walking a lot more, and is getting around pretty good today. I know it won't be much longer and he will be keeping up with his Brother and Sister.

Kiara had dance pictures on Saturday. Before I took her to the studio I pulled out my camera and we had our own photo shot. It was so much fun. I got a new photo editing program that I have been playing with, and I think the pictures turned out pretty good.

Sick of everyone being sick!

I really am not forgetting about my blog, we have just been pretty crazy. The past few weeks at our house have been unbelievable, and not in the best way. Dylan got tubes in his ears the first week in Feb. on a Thursday, Saturday morning Ace woke up sick and throwing up, it only lasted a few hours and he was better. Then a week later it was Kiara's turn, she was so sick for about 24 hours, in the mean time Dylan started with the pooping. Kiara gets better, and Tony gets sick, Dylan is still sick. Tony gets better and Dylan is still sick. So I took Dylan into the doctor last Friday. He told me it was just a stomach bug and to take him off sugar and he would probably feel better by Monday. We didn't give him milk or sugar on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday and nothing changed. Sunday night Kiara wasn't feeling good, and she was burning up. I took he to the KidsCare and she had strep throat. Seriously, this is crazy, then Monday Dylan was starting to scare me, he was really not doing good. I called the doctor and told him that this was not a stomach bug and he needed to check him again. So we did a stool sample and got the test back on Tuesday, the poor little guy had Giardia. I have never used so much Lysol in my life. Dylan is on medicine now and they said he should be all better in two weeks. What a month!
On a happier note, Tony and I started our business, Big Finish Photo's. We are doing action photography and it is going really well. I am really excited and so grateful for all the help my family has given us with watching the kids and getting this set up. We couldn't have done it with out them!

A night to remember!

Kiara has been planning this night for a couple of weeks. She did such a great job keeping it a secret and we loved it. She told Grandma Quanette what she had planned and had a picture drawn of what she wanted the table to look like and had gifts for Tony and I. Grandpa and Grandma took the kids and let us have dinner together. Thank you Kiara for being such an amazing girl, we love you more than you'll ever know and I am so grateful that you always think of others. Thanks Grandma Quanette for helping Kiara and giving us a great night. Tony and I agreed that this is the best Anniversary gift we have ever received.

Watching T.V. with Daddy

After a year filled with lots of ear infections, Dylan got tubes in his ears. He was so good before the surgery, but after he came out of the anesthetic, he was crazy. He wouldn't settle down, and wouldn't stop screaming. About an hour after the surgery we were able to take Dylan home. He feel asleep in the car and slept for 6 hours. When he woke up he was his normal happy self. Hopefully this will help him to feel better and get rid of the ear infections that he keeps getting.

Spending the day at Discovery Gateway is one of our favorite things to do. It amazes me that we can be there for 6 hours and they still do not want to leave. I love watching them play and discover. I love watching them learn!!!

Well it has taken us a month, but Kiara's room is finally done! We traded in the baby pink and mint green for Hot Pink, Lime Green, and Black, with accents of White and Silver. It was so fun to give her an older girl room. She has been so funny picking out new things for her room. I never thought I would paint a room lime green, but I love it. Thanks to Grandma Quanette for making the cute curtains. Kiara thinks she is pretty cool now!

It seems like every time anyone asks me what I am doing my answer is always "CLEANING." Dylan keeps me on my toes, he is always making a mess somewhere. Then when he is caught he gives you the biggest smile and it is so hard to get mad at him. It is a good thing he is so cute, because he is a little stinker right now!

Because of the busy time of year we decided that we would take Dylan out to dinner to celebrate his birthday. Mommy, Daddy, Kiara, Ace, Grandma Quanette, Grandpa Troy, Aunt Charidee, Uncle Alex, McKenlee, Uncle Justin, Jessi, Dallon, Grandpa Tony, and Grandma Penny were all there to celebrate his big day.

We kept the tradition of turning him loose on a birthday cake. He was so funny. He ate the whole thing, and loved every bite. We have enjoyed this first year and can't wait to see what fun things this little guy will do. Thanks for being such an awesome part of our family Dylan.

We were a little rushed to make our flight, but we made it.

We did some shopping at the Expo's, went to a Chocolate Factory, visited the Cactus Gardens that were all decorated in lights for Christmas, and just had a good time being together. I love being around the action of the NFR, and it was great to spend time with Charidee, Alex, and McKenlee.

We had a pretty busy Thanksgiving this year. We started the feasting at Holly's house at about 2:00. We had a great time eating and looking at ads. Then we realized that we forgot to put our dog away before we had left our house, so we ran back home and found she was missing. We jumped into the car and found her enjoying a game of football at the park. After we got her back home we headed over to my Grandparent for round two. Lots of great food, and we had a great time being with the people that we love! I am very Grateful for my family and the support and love they give to us.

Herriman Pumpkin Festival

This year we attended the Herriman Pumpkin Festival. We had a great time. They had a lot of fun games and lots of candy. The best part was that it was all free. The kids had a great time and Ace actually wore his costume. He still doesn't like costumes very much.

Peterson's Pumpkin Patch

One of our favorite family traditions is to visit a local Pumpkin Patch each year. Dylan and Mommy

This year we decided to go to a new Pumpkin Patch, and it was awesome. We have loved the one that we usually go to but it has gotten very over crowded.

The Peterson's Family Farm was very cute, and had a great selection of Pumpkin's.

This Pumpkin Patch had an awesome little corn maze.

Dylan has turned into such a Mama's boy. He gets mad if he can't see me at all time, and then if he can see me and I don't pick him up as fast as he thinks I should he turns into the Incredible Hulk, and has a little fit. The bad part is it cracks me up every time and then he does it more.

He has also discovered the joy of playing in a basket.

I can't believe how much Ace has grown up in a year. He was so excited for school this year, and couldn't wait for me to leave. The only bad part of the day was that he thought that he was going to the new elementary school, but after he arrived at his school he was just fine.

I can't believe this day is here. I didn't think that I would ever really have to send my little girl to school all day long. I am going to miss her so much, but I know she is going to love school.

She is such a smart girl, and she loves to learn. We are going to miss having her with us all day, but I hope she will love this new journey and remember that she is a beautiful daughter of Heavenly Father, and he will always be with her. I love you Kiara!

We had our Region horse show this weekend in Price. While we were there we went to a really fun wave pool. It was a great weekend. The horse show went well Tony, Justin, and my Dad cleaned up. They came home with a ton of trophies. My teams didn't do so well, but there is always next year.

Swimming Lessons

These are pictures of my little fish kids. They love the water. They were all in swimming lessons this year, and did great. Dylan didn't get to do many lesson because he was sick but I got some pictures of him in the tub. He loves the water. Kiara is doing really well and can now do the American crawl by herself. She is also floating on her back. Ace is finally getting over his fear, and loves to put his eyes in the water and swim. He still does not love to jump off the diving board, but he is getting better. They had a lot of fun!

We are so excited that we have a sweet little niece and new cousin for the kids. Aunt Cheddy and Uncle Alex welcomed their sweet little baby to the world on Aug. 21. She was 6 lbs 4 oz. (The same as my little Kiara, so funny) We are so excited and can't wait to get to meet

Dylan is growing so fast. It is so amazing to watch him grow and learn so much. In the past couple of weeks he has learned to clap his hands. He gets very proud of himself and I love to watch him do it. He is also learning to crawl. Here it is. Once Ace saw the fish he started screaming like crazy, saying put it back in the water. It was even more funny because later that day Kiara was asking if she could hold one. It seemed a little backwards to me.

We have had the opportunity to help My Mom and Dad build the float for their stake this year. It turned out really nice, and it was fun to see it all come together. We were able to be a part of the parade and walk with their stake. We each got to wear cute little bug eyes for the Parade. Afterwards there was a really fun Festival that we got to go and play at. I am so proud of my Mom and Dad for doing such a great job. Thanks for letting us be a part of this experience also!

We had such a fun 4 th of July we were busy but it was fun. We started out on Friday with the Riverton Parade. We rode in my Grandpa's truck and little car that he restored. It was really fun for the kids. Then on Saturday we had a breakfast with Tony's family. It was nice to see family that we don't get to see very often. Then we came home and had a nice nap. That evening we went swimming at Grandma and Grandpa Shacks house then we went to My Mom and Dads and watched Fireworks. Lots of fun!!!

Even though Dylan doesn't have much hair he was getting a little crazy on the sides. With the red curly hair he was starting to remind me of a clown, so we trimmed up the sides, I started to take a little off the top and Tony stopped me. He said he likes his little curls. He was very good for his first hair cut. Dylan also got his first tooth this week, and is starting to sit up on his own. He has been rolling over for over a month now, and he is getting really tricky with getting around. He is growing up so fast.

Do you ever feel like you are crazy busy, but can't think of anything cool that you have done? That is how I feel right now, we just did the Riverton Rodeo this weekend, we were so busy that I didn't even take pictures. Tony won the hide race on Friday night, which was really awesome. Kiara is still in school for a few more days. I am starting to feel like she is never going to be done. We are busy with riding club, we start timing for events this week, Tony and I have been busy working with our new horses Bug and Bolt. It has been so fun to see how much they are learning and know that they are our own horses. So hopefully I will have some pictures to post soon.

This was Kiara's first year competing in riding club, they had there first show this weekend and she did so good. I was so proud of her. The first event her team competed in was Keyhole, and her team won. It was so awesome, Especially because all the kids on her team were first year riders. I never thought I would get so excited about winning a trophy, but it was so great to see my sweet little girl conquer her fear and get out there and ride. After she won the trophy, that was it we could not get her off of Skunk (the horse she was riding). She did really well the rest of the weekend, she only got first in one event, but she got ribbons in all of the other events that she competed in. I think my favorite was watching her in the parade. She is such a little princess, and loved to wave at us. Good job sweetheart!

Tony is such a good Dad, Today he dressed up like Taylor Swift to attempt to win front row tickets to her concert. He was so funny, and we had a great time, but no tickets. I really thought for all the effort the Dad's put into the contest they would give them some nose bleed tickets, but they gave them each a t- shirt. It was pretty funny, and Kiara better know how much her Daddy loves her to do this. Thanks for trying Tony, We love you!!!

It has been a long time since I have done a new post, we have been so busy I feel like my blog is the last thing I think about. April Was a really fun month. We took a trip to Las Vegas to visit Charidee and Alex. It was so much fun, nice and warm. We also had a great Easter, and celebrated Kiara's 6th birthday. Wow that makes me feel old. I still can't believe that I have a 6 year old, then my birthday came a few days later, and that really made me feel old. Ace has started T- Ball and Kiara is in riding club. I love watching my Kids as they learn new things, and accomplish different things in their lives. Kiara had her spring dance recital and she did awesome. It was so fun to watch her, she is a natural dancer, she must get that from her Daddy's side of the family, because I know she didn't get that from me! My sweet little Dylan is still growing like crazy, he is in the 93% for his weight, and 95% for his height. He is such a sweet baby to be around, he sure loves his family and is always smiling and giggling. The Doctor said we could start rice cereal and that has made us all happier because now Dylan is sleeping a lot better!!! That is a little bit of what has been happening in our lives, now back to being crazy!

Sand Dunes

Last weekend we went to the Sand Dunes with my parents.

We had so much fun. I finally got Dylan to smile for the camera too. (He has really been smiling for the past few weeks, but I never seem to be able to get him to when I get out the camera.)

The kids loved all the sand. Ace kept saying, "This is the best beach party ever." It was nice

and warm for the beginning of the day, but we headed out really fast once it started blowing.

I received an email from Shutterfly a few weeks ago for a free 8x8 digital album. I have never done an album and was really excited to try it. It took me 2 hours to complete it, and it turned out so cute, but when I went to redeem my promo code it had already been used. I WANTED TO CRY! I guess the codes they send you can only be used once, and I forwarded the email without knowing that. I had someone email me back and let me know that was the case, I sent out another email asking everyone that I sent it to not to use it, but I guess I was to late. So just in case any of you get the email sent to you from Shutterfly, DON'T FORWARD IT, if you are planning to use it. Shutterfly will NOT give you another code. I am just trying to decide if I want to spend the money to buy the book, now that I spent all that time on it. What a bummer!

Tony and I were able to go out on a Date last night!!! His Mom and Dad took us to the Roof
for dinner. Yummy!!! Our Anniversary is on Tuesday, so it was fun to celebrate Valentine's
and our Anniversary. It was fun to get to spend some time with Tony's Mom and Dad also.
We don't get them to ourselves very often so it was really nice.

Dylan was blessed last Sunday, Tony gave him a beautiful blessing. I always love to see a circle of men that I love and respect so much, take my sweet little baby and give him a name and a blessing.

I am so glad that Dylan has so many wonderful examples in his life. He is already growing so fast, and is such a sweet baby, and I am so grateful that we were blessed to have him in our home. I feel like the luckiest women in the world to have been blessed so much.

Draper Temple Open House

We were able to attend the open house for the Draper Temple. It was so beautiful, and exciting to know that we have another Temple so close. I was amazed at how reverent my Kids were

They loved seeing the temple, and felt so special that they got to go inside. Kiara loved the brides room and the chandlers, she asked if she could have a "Diamond Light" in her room. They only time Ace didn't talk in a whisper was when he saw a painting of an Elk. After he saw it he did his Elk call at it and then pretended to shoot at it. It was pretty funny!

After we went through the temple we went over to a church house, were they answered questions, and had beautiful art. Kiara loved this picture of the Savior, and when she saw it she went up and tried to hold his hand. It was such a sweet moment as a mother to see my daughter try to take the hand of the Savior. I hope she always keeps that attitude in her life.

I am so glad we had the opportunity to see this beautiful Temple, and share it with our children and also Grandma Quanette and Grandpa Troy.

Kiara's First Pheasant Hunt

I was able to get Kiara out of the house without Ace knowing and take her on a Pheasant hunt this weekend. We got kind of lucky because the pen that held the birds broke and their were birds everywhere. Kiara only had to walk about an hour and then I got to carry back to the truck on my shoulders. We had a great time and ended up getting twelve birds between the three hunters. Kiara's new dog Molly (in the picture) did great, pointing 4 out of the 5 birds that I shot. Grandpa Tony said that we have to do something about Kiara hunting in a pink hat but that is just her.

This week has been one that I don't think we will ever forget, and I hope we never have to relive it again. Last Saturday I got up and was feeling great, things had been going really well since the delivery. I started to clean up the house when I started to bleed, and not just the regular postpartum bleeding. I called Tony in to help me, and I ended up passing out. He got me onto the floor, and we called my Mom and a friend for help. They both got there quickly and we realized that I was going to need to go to the hospital. We tried to get me up so Tony could take me, but I was losing a lot of blood, so we called the paramedics, and they took me by ambulance to the hospital. At the ER they were able to get the bleeding under control,with the help of patosine, and I was able to go home. I was told I had to stay down for 5 days. My Doctor wanted to see me on Tuesday, so we went up thinking she would just check me and send us home, but that was not the case. She wanted me to have another ultrasound, and see if I still had anything that needed to be taken care of. After the ultra sound they decided that I would need a D and C or I would have the same thing happen in a few days. So we had the D and C done that night and things are going much better. It has been hard because I lost so much blood that I have been very weak, and tired. I am so grateful for our wonderful family, and friends. Tony has been an amazing husband through all of this. I know it wasn't easy for him to see all of this happen, but he took such good care of me, and I love him so much. My Mom has been a lifesaver, I don't know what I would have done with out her. She stepped in and took care of my kids, and me, and even came and cleaned my house. We have also had so many friends that have helped us with our kids, and bringing meals and just calling to check on us. I can not express the gratitude that I have for all that has been done for us. Thank you for the prayers, this was very scary for us but I felt peace and comfort through it all. So thank you to everyone that has been there for us we really appreciate everything.

Well while Brandy was in her appointment yesterday afternoon I was thinking it is going to be a quiet Christmas and then she call and said she had dilated to a 5 and that they were hooking her up to a monitor to watch her contractions and that we might be having the baby today. Well he came. Dylan Troy Elegante was born Monday December 22, 2008 at 10:42 pm weighing in at 6 lbs 11 oz and 20" long with fully developed lungs. Which will put him more than ready to come home on the 24th to spend his first Christmas with his family. Both he and his mama are doing great. Brandy we love you!!!

Baby Update 2

We do not have a baby yet, and I don't think we are going to have him tomorrow. After my appointment last week I was dilated to a 4. The Dr. said that she wanted to have me do an amino statuses on Friday to see if the baby's lungs were developed all the way, and if they were she would induce labor on Saturday. Well we had the amino test and his lungs were not ready yet, she said that she would still induce me tomorrow, but I am worried that he still isn't ready. I am worried we might get stuck in the hospital for Christmas, so we are going to try to wait and see if he will keep cooking until after Christmas. I am going into be checked again today, I am interested to see what she has to say, but as for now no baby. We did get to see his cute little face on Friday when they were doing the test. That was really cool! He is a handsome little guy.

Baby Update

We made it to 36 weeks. My baby ticker shows different because it is counting down to when the Dr. will induce me. Kiara took this picture of me the other day, I got worried that I didn't have any pictures of my belly so she took some.

We had our Dr. appointment today. I am dilated to a 3 now. The doctor told me to take it easy, she wants me to make it to 38 weeks. I on the other hand am ready for this little guy to get here. I want him to be healthy, but I am ready to hold him, and not be hurting all of the time. I have also thought that they moved my due date back to far, and I think I am actually two weeks ahead of what the doctor says. That would explain why I am a 3 already. If I go into labor now, they won't stop it, but she isn't going to do anything to help it along yet. So hopefully he will decide that he wants to come on his own soon, because Mommy is ready. It is really disappointing that I was having so many contractions, but now that it is o Kay they have stopped. I think the medicine worked a little to well.

My Big Helper

Yesterday I wasn't feeling really great so I was laying on the couch resting. Kiara came in and started to pick up the toys that were in the family room, and folded the blankets that were out. Then she told me that she was going to turn on a movie for me. After that she sat down and I could see her looking around. She got up again and said, Mom I am going to wash the dishes for you. It was awesome. When Tony came in he told her that he was going to dry them, but she said that she wanted to do it herself. She did a great job. I couldn't help it I had to take a picture. Kiara is such a great helper, and a great big sister. She can't wait for the new baby, and I know she will be so much help. I love this little angel, and I feel so blessed. Thanks my little Kiwi!

Thanksgiving

My little Sister moved to Henderson, Nevada a few months ago. So we decided to travel down as a family and have Thanksgiving at her house, since we hadn't seen where she was living yet. It was a LONG drive, but we had a great time together. I think it will be a Thanksgiving that we will remember for a long time.

My Mom had a little accident on Thanksgiving. She was heating up wax to help my Sister and me with our crazy eyebrows, and the wax spilled on her hand. I am sure the burn was a third degree, but she would not go to the hospital. She was in a lot of pain. Then I started to have contractions every 5 min. So I had to take some medicine and go lay down, but we have such awesome guys. Justin, Tony, and Alex stepped up and took care of the rest of dinner. It was awesome. They did such a good job. I was so grateful for all of them. They are amazing guys and we love them a lot. We had a good time in Vegas. Tony, Charidee, Alex, and I all got up on Friday morning at 4:00 a.m. to do some shopping. Charidee was my little body guard. She wasn't letting anyone near my belly. It was awesome. We also went to a fun out door mall that night that the kids loved. They had a lot of fun in the play ground area. It was fun to be together as a family. I am very grateful for my Family!

We had an eventful Friday night. Tony and I were very excited to get a night out together. We decided to go to the temple, and then go get some dessert after. We got to the temple at about 6:20. When I was getting ready I began to have contractions, they weren't anything to bad, and I just figured that I needed to sit down. Well as the night went on they started to get harder and more uncomfortable. I began to time them and they were coming every 3-5 min. As soon as the session ended, we got right home so I could lie down and rest. I gave the doctor a call to let her know what was going on. She said to give it one more hour and if they hadn't stopped to call her back. After another hour, at 10:00 p.m., I called her back to let her know that there was no change. She said that we needed to go into the hospital so I could be checked. We got to the hospital and they did some test, that were not very comfortable. They decided that the baby was not ready to come, thank goodness, but they need to get the contractions to stop. They gave me a shot of tributalin, which makes you shake like crazy, but also made me pass out and throw up. It was not the date night that I had planned. But the contractions slowed down and I got feeling better. They sent us home at about 1:30 a.m., with a list of restrictions. I am supposed to stay on the medicine to stop the contractions until the end of the month, and we hope the baby will wait a few more weeks to try that again. I am just so grateful to family that dropped everything to come and help us, and I am so grateful for my amazing husband. Sorry it wasn't the most romantic date night, but I still really enjoyed just being with you!

So for the most part I was having a normal day today, I dropped Ace and his Friend Caleb off at school, and then took my little cousin and dropped him off at school. Kiara had a dentist appointment, so we were on our way when I saw a police officer step out into the road in front of me. I slowed down because I couldn't figure out what he was doing. He then directed me to the side of the road. I am so clueless that I couldn't figure out what was going on. When I rolled the window down, he said hi I am officer Smith, I said hi, and still didn't know what was going on. Then he told me that he clocked me going 36 in a 25. 11 over. and he needed my license. I was in shock because I am not a speeder, I get passed on Bangerter all the time like I am standing still. This was the first time I had been pulled over for speeding, and I really thought he would give me a warning. Nope, I got a ticket. I was so mad, and being pregnant when I get mad I cry. When he took my drivers license Kiara got really sad. When I asked her what was wrong she said, "Did he just take our Christmas money." It almost made me laugh, but I couldn't stop crying. Don't police officers know they shouldn't give pregnant women tickets?
Anyways I did get to go to a really amazing Relief Society program tonight. It helped me to realize that there is so much more to life than having a perfect driving record. I am just grateful for all that I have in my life, for my sweet kids, my awesome, handsome husband, and all my family members and friends. And if you see me driving even slower down the road you will know why.

Halloween Pictures

Here are a few pictures of the kids on Halloween. I ended up getting really sick, and didn't take to many pictures. Kiara was Hannah Montana this year. Ace hates Halloween, and so we just dress him up like a hunter. Don't tell him that we dressed him up, he still doesn't know. He fell asleep at 5:00 and missed most of the Trick or Treating too. He woke up at about 7:00 and got to go to a few houses, I think they both had fun.

The Great Pumpkin

My kids are very lucky that they have such a good Dad, because Mommy hates to carve pumpkins. I don't like the smell, the feel, or the mess, but Tony doesn't mind. I just let the kids paint them, but Daddy showed them what you really do with pumpkins. They had so much fun, and I was happy to just take pictures. I am glad that I got such an awesome husband, and my kids have such a great Dad. We love you Tony!

I have been wanting to start teaching scrapbooking classes, so I finally put together a project that I want to do a class on. After all of the supplies, the class will be 24.00 to complete the album. I think it would be an awesome Christmas gift, but I am worried that I won't get anyone to sign up. I need some opinions would you pay 24.00 to take this class?

UPDATE: I went to Roberts today and with the class fee that they charge the class will be 28.00. Still that isn't bad. The nice thing about doing it in a group is that everyone does not have to buy a full package of everything, to only use one or two. My Class will be on November 13, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the South Jordan Roberts. If you are interested just go to the Roberts and sign up at least 24 hours in advance.

Back to the Pumpkin Patch

We took another trip to the pumpkin patch today. We were able to go with Grandma Penny and some of the cousin's this time. The kids were glad because they were able to do some of the things they wanted to the other night, but it was too cold. Thanks for the fun day Grandma Penny.

A Boy is a Joy

I remember when I was pregnant with Kiara all I wanted was a little girl, and I was so happy to find out that she was a girl. I told a few people that I really didn't care if I ever had a boy, I would be fine with all girls. I have to admit I was a little disapponited when I found out Ace was a boy, but looking back now I see that it was crazy to feel that way. I never knew that I would love having a sweet little boy so much. I love both of my kids very much, but I remember thinking when Kiara was a baby, how could I love another child this much, but you just do.

Kiara was in her dance class the other day, and Ace was playing on the swings outside. He was so cute, I just had to get a few pictures. As I was taking the picture I had an overwhelming feeling of love for this sweet little boy. Don't get me wrong he can be a terror, but he can also be an angel. It is funny how much little boys love there Mom's. He is always concerned when he sees me crying, and always wants to kiss me better if I get hurt. I am just so grateful for my little boy, and I am excited to get another sweet boy soon. I also love my little Kiara, and the big helper she always is. I feel very lucky to have such great kids.

Pumpkin Patch

On Monday night we went down to our favorite pumpkin patch in South Jordan with my Mom and Dad. My Dad needed to get some pumpkin's for his scouts group. It was so cold, we only stayed for a few minutes, but we got some cute pictures.

Where did Fall go?

I was really hoping for a nice long, warm fall. It has been so beautiful, but has actually felt like summer more than Fall, until today. I was a little surprised when I woke up this morning and saw snow on the ground. I hope it warms back up before winter officially begins. I feel like we missed Spring this year, I hope we don't go right into winter. I had to take some pictures to send to my Sister, who lives in Las Vegas. I bet she doesn't miss Utah too much after seeing these pictures.

Grandma Quanette and Grandpa Troy took us to the ZOO. This was Kiara and Ace's first time going to the zoo. They really enjoyed it, and it was really fun for us to watch them. Thanks for the fun day Grandma and Grandpa!

What a fun weekend

Kiara got a loose tooth about a week ago, and she showed it to everyone that she saw. Last Friday when she got home from school she bit into a gumball and her tooth went sideways, but was still hanging on. After working in the Dental field for over 5 year you would have thought I could have popped it right out. I started to try to get it out, but when the tears started, I couldn't keep pulling. But when Daddy got home he took care of it, and of coarse she didn't even cry when Daddy pulled it out. The tooth fairy brought Kiara and new Hello Kitty Tooth Brush and a new dollar. She was very excited.

The next day Aunt Cheddy (Charidee) and Uncle Alex fly in from Vegas. We got to spend a little time with them before they went to Huntsville for family pictures with Alex's family. My kids really missed both of them, and it was great to spend some time with them. Although Kiara has broke down sobbing every night since they left, because she misses them so much. They spoil my kids when they are around, and get them really wound up. Ace love to play with Uncle Alex, but I didn't get any pictures of them together. We will have to get some when we go down for Thanksgiving!

Scrapbook USA Expo

What a Crazy weekend, but so much fun! My friend Carmelle and I decided to enter "The Best of Show" contest for the Scrapbook USA Expo. We made a two page layout and submitted it to Roberts Craft. We were then selected to compete at the expo. We were not given much information about the contest. We were to come up with a team of 4 people, a name, logo, and costumes. We were told that we would be given a mystery packet at the expo, and a time limit to complete it. We were only told to bring supplies that we would take to a friend’s house for a crop. Our Team was the Memory Builders, we dresses like construction workers, with our own girly spin on it.

We arrived on Friday expecting to put together scrapbook pages, cards, etc. To our surprise we were asked to decorate a shelf and apron, in 1 hour. We were a little disappointed with the out dated paper that they gave us to work with, but we decided to make due with what we had. I think our stuff turned out beautiful. Carmelle amazed me with the apron that she put together. I have to admit that I thought we had it won on Friday, but when they announced the top three teams that would be moving on, we were the third place team. We were a little disappointed, but were happy to be going on to the next round. We decided that we were probably marked down for not using as much of there products as the other teams.

After the competition on Friday we talked about how to prepare for the next day. We decided that we needed to use more of the product that was provided for us, and we needed to think our of the box. We were trying to figure out what the challenge would be the next day, and Carmelle said, " It will probably be some paper mache thing." She was right on. We had a witch hat, basket, a plaque, and a trick or treat bag, and a 2 page layout, and 2 hour to complete them. We had the idea to start with that we would do some type of a center piece with it. Although after talking to the judges, that wouldn't give us very much information, they did say that the projects would be donated to the Festival of Tree or Christmas Box house, so we decided to do something different. We made it into a kids basket, and included a Tic-Tac-Toe game, Halloween Memory, Checker Game, a Countdown to Halloween, and a treat from "Mummy". After it was all completed and on the display table, I was a little intimidated. Another team had made theirs into a beautiful centerpiece, with hand painted eyeball, and a beautiful scrapbook page. It came time for them to announce the winners, and a little to our surprise, We Won 1st place!!! Afterwards the judges talked to us and said they loved all the different components of our project. I think our costumes won a few points too!

We put Ace to bed tonight a little before 8:00, but at 9:00 he started calling for us to let him out of his room. Tony went to check on him a little surprised that he was still awake, because he had been so quite. I heard Tony say, go show Mommy your feet, when he came in I saw that he had got a hold of Kiara's nail polish and had a good time. I started to get mad at him, but I couldn't help but laugh. He was so proud of himself. I figure the pictures will be good black mail for the future!
